The
Lakewood Ranch Swim Association (The Lightning), based out of Bradenton, Florida,
is for swimmers between the ages of 5 and 18. Our swimmers practice
together in groups
based on ability and age. We welcome anyone who has the desire to swim and to
succeed in and out of the water.
The Lakewood Ranch Swim Association, established in 2004 at the Lakewood Ranch
Athletic Center, started out as a summer team, but since progressed to a
year-round USS program. LRSA is a member of Florida Swimming, Inc., which is the
division of United States Swimming. Lightning team members compete at USS
sanctioned meets selected by our coaching staff.
The mission of the Lakewood Ranch Swim Association is to provide a supportive
environment in competitive swimming for children and young adults to develop
self-esteem, lifelong friendships and a true love for the sport of swimming. We
are committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle, sportsmanship, self discipline
and character qualities necessary to succeed in life.
Lakewood Ranch Swim Association
offers a multi-tier program based upon skill, talent, age and desire. The
Lakewood Ranch Swim Association coaches place athletes into the appropriate
groups. Their individual skill level determines placement.
Swimmers wishing to join the team must go through tryouts and be evaluated by
the LRSA coaches.
